Day 1: Manali to Delhi (550 Km): You will be picked up with a semi sleeper Volvo by the evening and an overnight journey starts towards Manali. It’s a 14 hours journey and you will be at Manali by next day morning. You will be transferred and checked in to the hotel.

Day 2: Bike Test driving in Manali : After getting fresh in the hotel you will be taken to the bike test drive where you can set the bike according to your comfort and need and a time to acclimatize.  

Day 3: Manali to Rohtang pass to Jispa (138 Km): You will proceed for Jispa where you will halt at Rohtang Pass (the most popular tourist destination of Manali) and will continue your jurney towards Jispa and stay at Jispa for the night. 

Day 4: Jispa to Baralacha to Sarchu (85 Km): Charm of the Himalayan mountain can be experienced at Jispa and the river side character of the location makes it much popular and worth visiting place of Manali Leh route . Suraj tal lake is also a worth visiting points of the Manali Leh highway which is the highest lake of Himachal Pradesh.

Day 5: Sarchu to La Chungla to Tanglangla to Leh (250 Km): Sarchu is almost on the middle of the Manali Leh highway, Sarchu is considered as the best place to night stay or halt on the way to Manali Leh highway because of having a good accommodation for staying in a Swiss tent and having availability of meals or refreshments. Other worth seeing places on the way to Leh are; Nakee La, La Chulungla La, Pang, Moore Planes, Dibring, Tanglang La, Rumtse and Upshi.

Day 6: Leh to Khardungla to Nubra valley (160 Km): At Leh; Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Sangam and Hall of Fame are places to visit around. After Leh sighseeing you proceed towards Khardung La the highest motor able road of the world (once considered) and arrive at Nubra Valley. Nubra valley is famous for its sand dunes, camel safari, Diskit monastery and Hunder village.

Mountain biking tour checklist/ Things to carry with for a bike trip from Manali to Leh

• Carry your ID cards and its photocopy along with your passport size photo

• Copy of inner line permit
• All the details of your tour itinerary, booking at hotel or camp sites, and at any other point with hard copy.
• A notebook with all important contacts and details of Leh and Ladakh because you mobile battery may die or mobile can be misplaced.
• Carry enough cash with you because you may face long queues at the ATM or there might not be cash at the ATM.
• Climate of Leh and Ladakh is always unpredictable so you have to wear clothes in layers so that if it’s hot you can put off your clothes and if its cold you can wear it again. Fuel Stations on the way to Manali Leh Highway

 Manali leh highway is a 474 Km long way where there are only two petrol pumps available one at Tandi near Keylong and other one near Leh at Karu. But one should keep one thing in mind that in case of emergency one can get petrol in black on the dhabas on the way of Manali Leh highway.

Manali Leh highway altitude

Manali to Leh altitude differ from a height of 1950 m. at Manali  to the maximum height of Tanglang La at 5335m. Tanglang La is the heighest point on Manali Leh highway and Lachulungla at second point having height of 5080m and Baralachal La is on third position while height of Rohtang Pass or Rohtang La is 3980m. Sarchu is situated between Baralacha La to the south and Lachulungla to the north, height of Sarchu campsite is 4290m. While Jispa the other destination to halt on the way to Leh from Manali has a height of 3200m.

Manali to Leh highway remains closed for about 7 to 8 months of the year because of heavy snow fall.
